by popular demand...

Susie's Maple Beans
½ package bacon
½ # quartered smoked kielbasa
1 small chopped onion
1 can Bush's Original Baked Beans, the 16oz. or so size cans for all beans
1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can butter beans, drained and rinsed
½ c. maple syrup
3 Tb. white vinegar
3 Tb. ketchup
3 Tb. yellow mustard
Fry the bacon, crumble and set aside.
In some of the fat saute the kielbasa and onions until turning brown and tasty.
Mix all ingredients together and simmer on the stove for about ½ hour, or in the oven for about an hour, or throw it all in a crock pot for a few hours...very versatile.
Serve with biscuits or some good bread. Delicious and hearty and fast!
Actually my favorite combo is with black beans and cannelloni beans instead of the kidney and butter, but it's great with either.
