a whole lotta working' goin' on...

Hello family! We are swinging our way into another summer season and we wanted to let you all know about the great things that are taking place at the pond.

First of all, as hard and as painful as it is to except at times, our beloved parents/grandparents are gone. We honor their home, and them, while still realizing that the property that was their home has to change. It is no longer a private home, but that doesn't mean it is not important to all of us. It must now take on a different role, but that is a role that can still bring much joy and fun to our lives.

With this thought in mind, we are constantly striving to do more cleanup, make more improvements, and have the place more usable for all of us.

Initially after Mom and Dad both moved on to far greener pastures we worked at the types of changes that were necessary at the time. Their loss was still too fresh in our hearts to make a lot of major changes. The time has now come where we want to make improvements and make it a place we all can enjoy, whether on a Sunday afternoon, for an overnighter, or for a full length vacation.

We had a work bee last week and got an enormous amount of projects done! Of course, many people have helped with many things over the past year or so, but this bee really showed the results of all our work big time. I put together some photos so that you can see how things are looking at this time. There are still many things left to do, many changes we want to make, but the place is looking so much better than it did before. I guess what we're trying to say is, don't hesitate to use the place for a vacation, or whatever. You will be very pleased I think, and pleasantly surprised.
